A nice ELAGABALUS, AE36, 218-222 A.D.; Struck in Philippopolis in Thrace. A large, 36 mm/dia issue, weighing 23.31 grams. The coin is quite scarce. Ex: CNG. Ref: Mionnet I, p. 418, 355v. $250. The reverse shows a Prize Table with legs ending in lion heads; Agonistic urn with 5 balls or discs; amphora & palm branch beneath.
